The Dokumentale Kids Program invites young explorers to dive into fascinating non-fiction stories, interactive workshops, and engaging picture book screenings. Join us for a summer of laughter, discovery, and new perspectives—an unforgettable experience for the whole family!

We love stories for young and old! At Dokumentale 2025, it’s not just the grown-ups who get to enjoy a world of fascinating non–fiction stories—our youngest visitors are in for an adventure, too!

In close collaboration with educators, we’ve designed a special program tailored to the needs and interests of children and families. Set in the city’s oldest film studios, Dokumentale is a festival for everyone!

The Dokumentale Kids Program invites young explorers to dive into captivating stories, discover the world through the magic of non-fiction storytelling, and get hands-on in interactive workshops. With a rich selection of picture book screenings (‘Bilderbuchkino’), short and feature-length documentaries, workshops, and hands-on activities, children and teens 4–15 and their families to discover new perspectives—together or on their own.
