With her audiovisual series Ode to Handcraft, the artist Donata Wenders dedicates a series of installations to the appreciation of traditional crafts that have lost their social significance in the course of technicalisation. She draws our attention to working with the hands and invites us to trace the rhythm of a different work pace. With her unique visual language, she awakens a fascination for the beauty and quality of these craft techniques and inspires the viewer to become creative themselves.

The first nine installations were created from 2019 to 2023 with the support of the Dresden State Art Collections. The series will be continued.
