Volunteer for Dokumentale: Be Part of the Magic!

Join Dokumentale as a volunteer and immerse yourself in a vibrant community of film lovers and creators. Volunteering isn’t just about helping out—it’s about connecting with passionate people and contributing to an event that celebrates the best in non-fiction storytelling. 

You’ll gain hands-on experience, make lasting friendships, and support a mission dedicated to creativity and global stories. Make this year’s festival unforgettable—join us!

 

How to get involved?

Ready to join the Dokumentale volunteer team? It’s easy! Simply fill out our Volunteer Sign-Up Form to let us know your availability, area of interest, and any relevant experience. We’re flexible and will work with your schedule, but we do ask for a commitment of at least three shifts.

Volunteer Roles: 
We have a variety of roles that cater to different interests and skills. Here are some of the key areas where you can get involved:

  • Cinema Support: Assist with film screenings by helping with seating, ticketing, and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.
  • Cinema Coordinator: Step into a leadership role as the host of our cinema venues. You'll be the go-to person for your colleagues, assisting them with any questions, while also supporting our international guests. Your responsibilities include welcoming the audience and delivering introductions before each film. (Minimum of 4 shifts required)
  • Festival Center: Be the welcoming face of Dokumentale by assisting in our festival center. Your role includes greeting the audience, checking tickets, supporting guest management, and helping with stage management to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Runner: Enjoy a varied role that involves assisting with different tasks around the festival, from delivering materials to helping with event setups.
  • VX Experience: Dive into the incredible world of virtual experiences! Learn how to operate VR sets and assist our audience in exploring exceptional immersive content.
  • Info Point: Assist our audience by answering their questions and guiding them through the program. You'll also welcome our international guests, helping them with accreditation and navigating both the festival and the city of Berlin.
  • Guest Management: Support our VIP guests, filmmakers, experts and storytellers, making sure they have an exceptional experience at the festival.
  • Bar/Service: Work in our festival bars, serving drinks and snacks while creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
  • Office Support: Help with the administrative tasks that keep the festival running smoothly behind the scenes.
    Airport Welcome: Provide a warm welcome to our international guests, assisting them with their arrival and ensuring they feel at home.
  • Social Media / Editorial: Help us share the excitement of Dokumentale online by managing social media accounts, creating content, and assisting with editorial tasks.
