Searching for Amani
Nicole Gormley, Debra Aroko / United States / 2024 / 80 min
In the heart of one of Kenya’s largest nature reserves, the world of thirteen-year-old Simon Ali is suddenly shattered. His father, an experienced tour guide, is found dead. For over a year, Simon waits for investigators to provide clarity about what has happened to his father. When no one comes, he and his best friend Haron embark on their own quest for the truth. The harsh realities they encounter on their journey are documented with Simon’s own camera.
